John D. Wagner is a very active building journalist, columnist, and the award-winning author of many books (see "Books" link at left for a list) on green building, construction, woodcrafts, home building, the supply chain, and corporate management. Through his magazine columns, John has a monthly audience of more than 180,000 builders, architects, remodelers, and building material dealers.
John is also a very active consultant, speaker, and trainer who works with major U.S. companies (See CV and Bio link). His green clients, past and present, include Boston Cedar, KLEER, Emery-Waterhouse, Ainsworth, Western Red Cedar Lumber Assn., Harvey, Milgard Windows, Simonton Windows, SFI, Eastman Chemical, Typar, the majority of the regional lumber dealer associations, and many other companies.
John also runs a boutique media relations firm, WagnerPR, with an exclusive list of clients that currently includes Berkshire Hathaway's MiTek, Berkshire Hathaway's Heat Pipe Technology, BuilderMT, Sales Simplicity, and GreenWizard. WagnerPR's clients include or have included a "who's who" of elite building technology companies.
Current Activities:
John is co-founder of the Certified Green Dealer Program, (www.CertifiedGreenDealer.org) a web-based, distance-learning company that trains and certifies dealers for green building. John created all the content for the Program.
John is currently adjunct instructor at Norwich University, as a cross appointment between the School of Architecture + Art and the Business School. He teaches graduate-school seminars; his current class is called Interdisciplinary Environmental Entrepreneurship
John is the green editor for LBM Journal (40,000 circ.), the leading voice of the lumber and building material dealer community.
John is the green building columnist for Qualified Remodeler magazine (90,000 circ.)
